I've only been a bridesmaid once when I was 12 (actually, I was like a junior bridesmaid) & I've been a bride once. So I can't say that's true in my case.

I am a widow and I have not even dated since my husband died. I told my daughter that I had no need of a relationship. She spouted off with," Well, it's probably tough to get a date since all of your men have died." She is a funny girl, whose humor is a little dark at times, but in a town this size, she may have a point.

I wish I had been that. Instead I have been divorced twice. The bridesmaid deal would have been a whole lot cheaper, and probably more fun...

all my guy friends are married but I think about how their lives are no longer their own and the living hell more than one has gone through. if I meet the right woman great if not the portugese have a saying " better alone than in bad company"
