somenie - Schinkel was replaced by Boileau (February 1974) several months before Larouche was drafted (June 1974).

Also, use the NHL guide and record book as a resource, it is 99.9% accurate, Wikipedia is a LOT less accurate!

Schinkel was Pittsburgh's head coach from January 13, 1973 through February 6, 1974

Boileau took over from there

On January 17, 1976 (Larouche's 2nd season) Schinkel replaced Boileau and held the job until April 3, 1977. In 1989 Schinkel moved to Hartford with longtime Penguins executive Eddie Johnstone, and was fired when Peter Karmanos bought the Whalers

He asked who was head coach when Larouche was a rookie which was in 74-75. Marc Boileau was the head coach in the 74-75 season.

Schinkel was head coach in 76-77 only.
