Yes there is, and it 's dangerous on so many levels. There are so many diseases out there, that u shouldn't have casual sex, even if ur protected. Casual sex, is like saying hi to someone with ur genitals. ur private parts "hug" each other, and then just leave. U might never see each other again. OR maybe u might, but it doesn't mean anything. And since it doesnt, u can haVe as many "friends" as possible, and if someone has something and u get it, or they get u pregnant, u don't know who did it, and ur screwed. Then there are emotional consequences that u face do to ur own feelings and morality. No matter what u believe, even if nothing, sex isnt' supposed to be taken lightly. Even the ones void of all emotions have one when it comes to sex, and it does hurt in some way when it's just as frequent as shaking hands with a person.

My answer, no.
People who don't know each other very well can and do have sex. Some people have sex with multiple partners. Some people have sex and then never talk to the person again. But the sex is never casual. Humans are creatures of attatchment. It's impossible for a person to have an intensely pleasurable experience with something and not get attatched to it. This includes drugs and sex and everything we do from day to day that we derive pleasure from. So why can't a person get attatched to sex and not the person they're having sex with? I don't know the answer to this one. All I know is that if you have sex with a person feelings of attatchment and affection develop, no matter how much you hate the person, no matter what you told yourself before the sex act, no matter the circumstances of the sex act, no matter the number of people you bang afterwords. If you look at people who engage in much promiscuous sex you will see this in their behaviors: Having to switch partners often, not having sex with one person too much, ending relationships as soon as sex happens, not talking to the partner for a long period after sex, drinking lots or doing drugs after sex. These are all behaviors to avoid the feelings that follow sex. There are many species in the animal kingdom that can have sex without attatchment, but I don't think human beings are included in this list.
It's a wonderful dream though, to be able to take human affection in the form of a pill(casual sex) anytime you want and with no side effects, physical AND emotional. Wonderful dream but just not true, in my opinion. This conclusion is not based on religion or morality, neither of which I believe in. It's based on years of trying it.

No...Although many people think there is and that it's OK.
If there are no feelings involved in the sex act, then it's just another thing you do- like eating or taking a shower. People who think casual sex is OK are usually very sad and confused people; and have serious issues with trust and intimacy. Sad, really.
