Trying hard to understanding my surrounding, but there is no space for me to do. Being new to American, is like being in the forest all alone trying to reach a distance to see the reality. I was standing along with the family, so that we are always together and watch each other. I never knew that one day will come and take everyone apart.

The American dream is different for everyone. It tore many families apart, even though they held the value of watching out for each other. Sometimes it happened over generations, other times people didn't even make it to the end of the pier after they got off the boat. The forest is large and full of wonders and dangers. The confrontation of new sights and sounds and the confusion of a cultural melting pot hit many with an overwhelming sense of claustrophobia.

Sometimes the break with old traditions is so great, people need help. Are there any social groups or churches where you live, that have ties to the country or culture you came from? Sometimes they can ease the transition.

It sounds like someone on the brink of having to enter into a new world on their own. Relying on their own charectar and skills to carve out a home of their own.

Instead of stressing on things that haven't happened, prepare yourself for what may happen, most of our fears are unfounded. Get yourself ready, enjoy your family while you have it, and then... Que sera, sera......
