The simplest is both the naturalist and the best, pick'm, kick'm, mow'm or leav'm, they'll be gone in a few days and won't appear again until this same time next year. Touching or handling of even the most poisonous mushrooms will not hurt you, just wash your hands. There are no products on the market that will effectively kill mushrooms. The mushroom is like an iceberg, 90% is as far as ten feet underground, so digging them out is not an option. If you find them in your lawn or garden, it is a sign they're healthy, happy and that you are doing things right. RScott

Mushrooms depend upon decaying matter to grow. Matter that is disturbed and turned with regular frequency will disolve any micro-organisms from beginging. That is not to say that they can't exist in these conditions. Raised beds that never or sometimes receive sunlight are great harbingours of fungi. Acid mulches raise the prospect of some deadly mushrooms to reach full maturity. To destroy their viability will require a valid form of intervention that includes an acid itroduction to neutrilize the soil at first-followed up with a copper salt addition. This addition is a proven cure for north-side fungal invasions upon tar-based shingles.

I would never usually give an answer like this, but I just can't resist the joke... so don't take it personal...
Here's a natural, simple way to keep bad mushrooms out of your garden:
Invite your local drug addict over... :)
Hope you got a good laugh...! I did...

I just read somewhere on line that one way to get rid of mushrooms was to get rid of the dirt containing it.... the idea of it is to get rid of the root and spores from the mushrooms.
Just google "how to get rid of mushrooms" you might find it that way. Or something that'll help you out.

Please, please listen to RScott. Mushrooms will not hurt you or your garden unless you eat them. I simply ignore them and they go away in time. I think this question may be the most asked question in this forum and the one that makes the least sense.
