Basically, because too many people pay too much attention to them. They are overly flattered by people, everyone wants to be near them--they develop a huge ego and become conceited.
This is not necessarily their fault--it is the fault of the people making a big fuss over them. It may have even started when they were children--too many compliments, etc.

not all hot girls think they are the best or better, but most of them think so because.. they answered the question i think.
let me ask you now, why do you think such girls tried to be sexy? the answer is so that they feel they are better.
sex was put in humans so that it goes in it's right track, and in the situation you mentioned, it is not at all the normal track. I assume a normal girl when she acts sexily it is because she is interested in someone, or at least, she wants to have sex...
now don't you think, it is another kind of prostitution... it makes them just cheap and sleazy no matter what they think about themselves

Becuase they live in a society that values physical beauty above all other internal characteristics. They learn early that they represent a dominant societal value. Is it suprising that some may exploit the attention and favor they receive?

Why do the best footplayers think THEY are hotter than everyone else? Because they ARE . . .at least in the markets that they profit from. What's hot is hot.

Because they know that because they are physically attractive they can get any man they want at any time. This is empowering and it goes to their head. It is our fault for giving them suck power though because we will be right at their feet if given the opportunity.
Girls are really lucky in that if they are semi attractive they can get ANYTHING they want from any guy.
