I have 400 to spend and i want to be able to play games like oblivion and bioshock? i don't know what card i would need.
i have vista so i can play bioshock

Your budget could get you the 8800GTS 640Mb

2x1Gb RAM would be good for your needs.

The 8800GTS draws up to almost 9 amperes on the +12V rail. Get a good power supply with at least 25 amperes on the +12V rail. Dual +12V rail would be best.

To play games like BioShock, will you probably need a PC with a PCI-E or AGP interface. If you have PCI-E, your best bet would be one of the nVidia GeForce 8 series. This card might be your best bet:

A 640MB card wouldn't hurt either, but I am not sure how much one would be.

Your best bet with games like these would be to get anything from the Nvidia GeForce 8800 series, or the ATI Radeon HD xt2900 series (or better). Preferably with as much on board ram as you can find them with.
