Its not just you. I agree with you, But the thing is people were already saying this in the 90's and 80's. Music seems to have more to do with money than talent or originality now days.

There is plenty of good music nowadays, you just are looking. Go away from the radio stations, MTV, and VH1 to look for good music. I often find good bands by looking through websites and listening to the cable TV music only stations. I'm not sure what you're into, but I'm a metalhead. If you are, then I'd reccommend looking into Roadrunner records and Nuclear Blast records. Lots of good new bands coming out of them, a lot of traditional metal, Thrash, and Black Metal.

It's way worse. Mainstream radio these days are unbearable.... at least the 80's had real punk and the 90's had progressive metal.

Good music is still out there but you have to search for it. Check out some college radio stations and you may hear music that's more interesting. I've been listening to college radio for many years now and I'm still hearing music that makes my ears perk up.

I assume you mean popular music, like what's played on the radio and television. "Underground" (and usually unsigned) bands are so much better.

that was a golden age of music, my friend. Right now, we're in a sort of "dark age" and society's so ignorant that most of them don't realize it.
