You know Nagitar - that is a damn good question, and one of those mysteries that anthropologists have done little to explain. Maybe primitive man observed how calves fed on it, and thought -- uh, we want some too! I've always wondered the exact same thing about medicinal herbs-- did primitive people just have a hunch about certain herbs ... how did they know that certain herbs served systemic purposes ... like how they hell did they know that corn husks were good for the kidneys...Did they have a primitive test panel? ... was it just trial and error? Who knows?
