Not true.
The 30 day rule you are referring to is the one for the credit reporting agencies.
If you ask for verification of a debt with the credit reporting agency, the creditor has 30 days to verify the debt. If they do not, the credit reporting agency will remove it from your report.

Man where do some of these people get their information? A debt collection company cannot post a disputed debt to your record. If you are in dispute they have 30 days from the date that you request the information to send it to you. You then have 30 days to respond and show cause for the dispute. If fail to do so they can, and will, post it to your credit report and you have given them all that is needed to seek a judgement against you. That is the price you pay for disputting the claim.
If they cannot send you the information about the debt you can ask the courts to forgive the debt and the company loses its rights to collect. The company must show just cause to collect. But you have to stay on top of this, if they pull up the bill before you can take it to court it goes to the judge.

No. The collection agency can just take you to court. They don't have to verify the account till they get before the judge.
You are confusing errors on your credit report. If you dispute an error, the credit bureau will contact the creditor for verification. If the creditor does not respond to the credit bureau within 30 days, the credit bureau removes the item from your credit report.
If you owe the debt and are just requesting documentation to stall and hope there's some magic way to get out of paying, forget it. If it's your debt, work out payment arrangements.

Nope. Not true, but document the fact they didn't send it, including the time, date and person you spoke with to reverse any additional fees they charge you because 30 days more has elapsed.

Not in this area. Someone is telling you something that they only believe to be true. Check with a lawyer on this one, not your friends.
