I have a cherry SG but it seems everywhere I look I'm seeing one. I want to personalise it, maybe make my own design.

yes they were advertised in Gear magazine, cant remember what they were called but i think someone from staus quo invented them. they are made by JHS or one of their brands, they are not sticky but clingy like window stickers so only work if your guitar isnt too scratched.
or go to to a sign makers and get a vinyl piece cut to suit, or get busy with the sticky backed plastic and scissors.

found these but only for strats and teles, you could try cutting one to size as long as they are bigger than your guitar

I've never heard of anything like that. Best bet - find images you really like and stick them onto the guitar with clear sticky-backed plastic which you can usually get from stationers (not sellotape or glue). It'll come in a roll or A4 sheet.

I used to have images from comics like 2000AD on my guitar. Real attention grabbings stuff. Get bored? Just peel it of and change the image.

Or you could just paint it. I'm sure I've seen images of guitars owned by George Harrison and Eric Clapton where they took a paint brush to them. Far out, man...

Guitarist magazine has adverts in for these stickers for Strats, teles and others. Browse through one at your local WH Smith. My grandson ordered a Strat version for his second home build. I don't know much about guitars but it looks good. Hope this helps.

Why not find someone who's good with an airgun to add a small detail, like parchment rolled back to expose a brick wall. Or maybe a mirror finish pickguard.
