how do i build my acting resume?

i live in lakelsnd fl but can travel any where in fl. should i do commericals or what???? plzz

1. take drama classes in school
2. be in all the school plays
3. Read plays and books on acting.
4. do any community or church plays you can
5. get a mentor

You don't just do commercials, they are the best jobs actors can get and you dont get one without an agent and you dont get an agent until you are really good and have lots of experiece acting.

If you want credits to add, simply amass them -- go out there and do projects.

Also get some training, either at a school or with reputable private teachers.

But just work as much as you can. Success breeds success, and in the arts "success" is less about money and fame than it is about just being employed with some regularity.

Assuming you have your parents full support and are in classes (because training is a priority) and you have learned in your classes about how auditions work and you have some technique in that area, then you should be building your resume by auditioning for and getting roles at local theatres, school, and student films (films dones by students enrolled in film programs usually at local colleges and universities) and independant films shooting locally.

Check out www.actorsaccess.com, www.backstage.com for audition info. You can also see if your state has a film alliance / commission / society or whatever your state calls theirs (some have more than one). Sometimes they post audition information for projects filming locally.
