I'm going to be a freshman in high school and my 9th Grade English teacher assigned homework to the class, while we were all still in Middle School! Plus, a book discussion, quiz, and essay in the first week. So hopefully this makes you realize that it's not as bad for you than it is for me! haha.

Ugh, at open house my teacher warned me about having tons of homework the first day. That really thrilled me. Turns out I had to read 34 pages (not that bad) write a paper and interview my friend decorate a notebook, study for a spanish test and get TONS of papers signed. It doesnt sound that bad but for the first day it seemed like 2 much. 4 more years! plus college...and med school...and residency...long time left

I didn't start school yet, but...at the last day of summer, those who had signed up for AP Psychology (such as myself), got about 9 packets of reading and questions to do. So, school starts Wednesday, and we have to hand it in...and, we have a test when we get back. Ohh, joy...

I teach first grade and I have taught 3rd and 4th. I have NEVER given homework the first week of school. It is hard enough for the kids to get used to coming back to school!

I had to read 15 pages, answer 4 in-depth questions, define words etc. It really sucked.
