how do I turn spell check back on?

I click the spell check button and it says grammer check is complete but it doesn't check spelling. I went into the the options menu and went to spelling and grammer and the spell check is checked where it says hide mistakes in this document. There is no way to uncheck it there because it is frozen like that the only thing you can change is the grammer options. Any help is apprieciated. Thanks

In the "Grammar" section, make sure there's a check mark next to: "Check grammar with spelling." See if this works.

In the "Spelling" section, place a check mark beside: "Check Spelling as you type," and "Always suggest corrections." See if that works.

Also, maybe spell check is checking for spelling errors even if it doesn't say so. Try intentionally misspelling a word, and see if spell check catches it.
