"Nationals" is the worst.
Best is whichever team one likes most (except the Nationals; worst name cannot also be the best).

I saw the answers, and Sox are not underwear. Duh!!! Teh word Yankee, is a swear word that came from the dutch, meaning a bad person, Im being good here, Twins is actually the Minnesota Twin City's, Fighting Irish is actaully racist when you think of it, implying that ALL Irish fight, Mets is short for Metropolitans, and the Nats is the origional name for the very old Nationals that went back to teh 50's and changed their name to the Senators. They moved to Minnesota, and the "new" Senators moved to Texas to become the Rangers. The stupidest name is the Dallas Stars, which was formally the Minnesota North Stars hockey team

Worst name - Padres. Catholisicm in San Diego? I'm all for it, but is it prolific down there? Or are the Catholics of San Diego the people who boycotted a game because homosexuals were there?

The best I saw was a men's fastpitch team named Sofa King Awesome.

The worst I have seen was a girls fastpitch team named the "Toxic Shock"

Best: Panthers because panthers show no mercy when they attack you and are fearless. Perfect for football.
Worst:Twins because who would want to be a "Twin" in the Majors. What's their mascot I want to see it, is it a double headed freak?
