It sounds like anti-freeze. Clean it up as soon as possible as pets will be attracted to drink it and it can be fatal to them. Have the cooling system checked unless you can find something obvious like a split hose that you can replace yourself.

Antifreeze-Coolant is the only known green fluid i know of.

Your water pump is probably all that is wrong...get it fixed asap, don't over heat your engine.
