My wrangler once in awhile stalls when i turn it on. I start it back up and it doesnt want to run. I have to keep my foot on the gas for it not to stall. Then the check engine light comes on. After i warm it up, and start driving it, it doesnt want to run for a couple minutes(not too much power), then it starts running fine down the road. But the check engine light will still be on. Then the next day, i wont have any trouble and the light will be off. I had it hooked up to a code machine today and the code came out to be P0108 which is a map sensor or baro sensor circuit too high. Can that really be what is causing this problem? I thought it would be a fuel filter or fuel pump, but i guess those machines cant pick up on that. Ive read where other people have problems with there crankshaft positioning sensor. Could it be that? I have a automatic 6 cylinder.

A MAP sensor deals with air. It stands for Manifold Absolute Pressure, basically, it is a measure of the air your engine is sucking in. If it is too high, then it will send a signal to the computer telling it that the engine is running at a higher level of throttle than it is. Get a new MAP sensor, they are easy to replace, and that should make your code disappear. Hope this helps.

For every ten crank position sensors that are replaced, about one is really bad. I could never figure out why people like to suggest they're the problem causing everything from exploding engines to smelly ashtrays.
Find the MAP sensor and check the wire and connection before you buy a new one. A disconnected wire or corroded connector will give high voltage readings. If they look good, go ahead and replce that sucker. Always fix the stuff you know is bad before you start guessing.
