Well when you take out the brush LOOK for clumps and wipe them off. I rarely get clumps and i dont know if its the kind i use (maybeline blackest black in a pink container with a green top) or the way i apply it which really isnt special. I just put the brush underneath my eyelash and blink onto the brush. I've also heard of people separating their lashes by using a safety pin which would, in fact eliminate clumps.

I buy Cover Girl Lash Exact, where I live makeup is NOT an everyday requirement & I would look ridiculous wearing it.
Anyway, don't pile it on. Do one eye with a light single coat then go to the second eye giving the first a chance to dry a bit. Then apply another LIGHT coat over the first.
Too many people think they have to put coat after coat on & all they are doing is globbing it up & gluing the lashes together. It makes them look like they have spider legs for eye lashes. Your lashes are only so long & so thick. Globbing a bunch of mascara on them will NOT make them look or be thicker, it will only cake & look ridiculous

Buy a good one.
Wipe the brush on a paper towel ( not a tissue ) when you take it from the tube. Start at the outside base of your lashes (underside) and sweep to the top. Repeat on the part closest to your nose without adding more mascara.
Do the other eye and repeat with both eyes before the first coat dries.
Use an eyelash comb after you've applied the number of coats you think you need . (2 or 3)

1. try buying a mascara that is clear
2. apply a regular mascara that has small bristles (like Lancome)
3. Apply to coats, then buy a brow comb and comb ur lashes with it it will remove all the clumps
4. use an eyelash curler (runing it under hot water 1st, then drying it with a towel
5. Apply it and hold for 10 secs
Ive done this before and it works wonders.... good luck

Before you apply your mascara, dab off any excess onto a tissue. After you apply your mascara and after it's completely dry, use an eyebrow brush to comb out the clumps and straigten out your lashes. This is what I typically do, and it works for me.

Well, make sure that you wipe of the brush very well before you even begin. Then, start at the lash line and slowly go to the end. Don't let it dry between applications.
