AL East: Boston Red Sox

They now have a 7.5 game lead and the upcoming series at Yankees Stadium is a "must sweep" for New York. But even if the Yanks do sweep it, the BoSox have a cushy schedule and should be able to maintain even a 4-5 game lead with ease.

AL Central: Cleveland Indians

Gary Sheffield's injury spells all kinds of trouble for Detroit. Meanwhile, the Indians now have three solid starters, with Jake Westbrook joining Fausto Carmona and CC Sabathia in that regard.

AL West: LA Angels of Anaheim

Joe Saunders has added depth to their rotation, and Howie Kendrick is hitting very well since coming back from his DL stint. The Mariners are hot, but they won't catch the Halos.

AL Wildcard: Seattle Mariners

The bullpen is the real strength of this team, but the Mariners are not a bad offensive squad. Raul Ibanez is leading this team right now, but Ichiro has also been very solid. Guys like YuBet and Adrian Beltre add depth to the lineup. The question is, can the rotation, which has Felix Hernandez and four question marks, hold up?

NL East: New York Mets

Solid all-around. And they'll get Pedro Martinez back soon. Expect Delgado to break out of his funk by early-September.

NL Central: Milwaukee Brewers

Call me crazy, as they just got swept by the Giants and look generally awful, but I think the Brew Crew will pull this off. They get Ben Sheets back in a couple of days, and that should spark this team. Yovani Gallardo is going through the typical troubles of a 21 year-old, but he should figure things out soon. And the offense has loads of potential, if they would just start taking a few more pitches.

NL West: Arizona Diamondbacks

I love this team. Eric Byrnes leads the lineup, but Chris Young has been scorching, and Conor Jackson appears to be heating up. Brandon Webb is quite the ace, and the bullpen is very solid, with a back-three of Brandon Lyon, Tony Pena, and Jose Valverde.

NL Wildcard: Chicago Cubs

The Cubs are solid all-around, but they aren't spectacular in any aspect of the team. Ted Lilly has struggled of late, and their schedule is no picnic. They will make the playoffs, I just don't think it'll be as a division winner.

Going forward...

NL Champion: New York Mets
AL Champion: Boston Red Sox

WS Winner: Red Sox

A.L.-
Wildcard- New York Yankees
East- Boston Red Sox
Central- Cleveland Indians
West- Seatle Mariners

N.L.-
Wildcard- Phillies or Padres
East- New York Mets
Central- Milwaukee Brewers
West- Arizona Diamondbacks

World Series- Boston Red Sox vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

I say that the Diamondbacks are the team the team to beat this year. Other than the red sox who have been on fire this year, but it will be one hell of a world series.

it's to early to make any playoff prediction wait until the postseason just like in the NBA one game could decide everything a team will make it or not and even if they do. do u think they could win the championship?
