I am on a dating site, and time and time again I come up against the same problem. I'm not shallow, and I'm not looking for a gorgeous man, but I do like a man who dresses stylishly. I date men who say they fit my profile criteria, but when I meet them they are far from stylish. They don't seem to understand why its so important to me, but they ask for the same in a woman. I just want a man I can be proud to have on my arm, and someone who looks like he's made an effort for me. Is this so wrong, or do you think that women should just accept that fashion isn't important to men even though they like us to look sexy for them? I always make an effort for my man, and they always compliment me, but I wish just once I could open the door and think Wow! he looks sassy.

Just to add that character is the most important thing to me, but I don't think you should have to choose between one thing or the other. I think you need to fancy a person as well as respect them, or you'll end up looking elsewhere and I want my next partner to be the one I spend the rest of my life with
