I find it rude when atheists celebrate christian holidays, they refuse to believe in god, but think it's ok to celebrate the holidays? almost all US holidays are christian based, and since atheists believe in no god what so ever, they don't really have holidays

I,m not an atheists , But Christmas is not a christian Holiday, Jesus Christ was not born on that day, the shepherds were in the field with their sheep, and in the colder months they always kelp the sheep in the barns. what does Santa clause, and the tree has to due with Jesus. Satan is behind this man made Holiday, using the name of Jesus to honor demons.
True christian do not celebrate Christian, Easter , Halloween or none those pagan holidays. I don't know what atheists do, they just might celebrate. I bet they know the true meaning of these holidays.

The only thing 'christian' about Dec 25th is the name. The day was around celebrating the birthday of a "crucified savior-born of a virgin" (Mithra) with trees, presents and parties long before Jesus was around. It's a day to celebrate the return of the 'son' (days start getting shorter at this time), a true celebration of earth and its cycles.

You might ask yourself why you are celebrating a pagan holiday.

To those who do not believe in God, Christmas can still be a holiday. It's a time to be with your family and remember all the good things in life. You don't need to be celebrating Jesus' birthday in order to want to take time off work and show others that you love them by exchanging gifts.

I asked this question before and many atheists do celebrate christmas. They say it's just about the gifts and family etc. You'll get a lot of statements about it originally being a pagan holiday and that the Christians stole it from the pagans. This should be interesting.

Usually, non Christians will get together for a holiday dinner, perhaps not exactly a traditional Xmas dinner. At home, they still might put up winter decorations such as lights, flowers, etc. Just not the religious items such as a statue of Jesus, manger, or Mary. And they probably won't go to church. But you know, Xmas is becoming a more generic holiday, not just an exclusive Christian one anymore.

The Christians are celebrating Jesus' birthday and the atheists are celebrating another vacation !! Another excuse to party, and to get gifts ;-)

If your celebrating Jesus birthday I'm am assuming you wont be receiving gifts. It is not your birthday. Now, if you sit down and open all those gifts and enjoy the big dinner maybe you should think twice.

i celebrate it in the sense that i spend time with my christian family. I buy presents, yes...

It's not like Christmas is a very holy holiday...cmon. It's the most greedy, self-serving holiday there is. Not very Christ-like, huh?

Ignorance is bliss. Most just ignore this day & celebrate life 365 days of the year.
