In some instances, there can be such a "curse." Basically, when one is expected to live up to such a blessing, that blessing tends to become burdensome.
Also, too much of a good thing can be a bad thing.

I really relate to Bruce M. What more can I add? Time, with our changing perceptions, can make a blessing a curse, or a curse a blessing, (although those are both quite strong words), & over time--perhaps we simply neutralize them?

Can be, as the blessing can be in the curse. So often, what I have taken to be bad has turned out good and what I have taken to be good has been bad. Life seems to be better than I am at sorting all this out.
