I want my daughter's MIDDLE name to be Sharpay. I know, I know, it's like the dog, Shar-Pei, and my mom thinks it's like a Sharpie marker. Is there any support out there, if not, that's fine, 'cause I like it. And it would be her MIDDLE name, not her first. So, what do you guys think. Be honest. Criticism accepted. Thanks.

I'm sorry, too much like the dog.

I don't see what the problem is since its the middle name. I sort of like it. My daughters favorite character from High School Musical 2 is Sharpay, so that may catch on as a most popular name.

You might think it's cute now - but your daughter will really hate it when she figures out that she shares her middle name with a dog. As far as the HSM references - when you daughter reaches the age to start learning about the meaning of her name - HSM will be a thing of the past and few people her age will get the reference. They'll just tease her for being named after a dog and they'll be merciless, as kids will be. So, she'll either never tell anyone her full name or she'll get really tough after getting her butt kicked at recess everyday.
Don't do this to your child - there are tons of other very interesting names that you can come up with.

Sharpei dogs I love love. Wrinkles are so cute
but if she gets old and wrinkly she might feel weird being a shar-pei, Sharpay or whatever.
And I like weird names or made up ones if they are pretty sounding.. but I just don't find Sharpay a pretty sounding name.
but it's your choice, there are definitely worse... plus it's only a middle name, they don't matter THAT much

It's not too bad. I have heard worse. I have never seen the movie that everyone is referring to so I have no correlation to that. Just make sure that the whole name flows together good and that she wont have any room for kids to make fun or anything bc of her name. Other than that go for it!

It's your child do what you want. What would you do if your mom gave you a wierd name after a dog?? Like if your middle name was poodle or huskey?? Best of luck to you.

It's your little girl. Name her something that you are going to love forever. If is Sharpay then go for it.

You are the mother. You make the final decision in the name. Forget everybody's negative opinions. It is a very Beautiful name. Oh, and just because that is the middle name she chose doesn't mean she got it from HSM.
