a process of mixing of different energy and shape to form set of new orbitals of the same energy and same shape is called hybridization

when the orbitals were not hybridized they had digerent energies and shape but sfter hybridization their energies and shape becomes same

u can also try wikipedia

If you have a molecule, such as CH4 (methane), all of the four bonding connections are the same. It is perfectly symmetrical on all 4 sides.

But Carbon has 2 electrons in the 2S orbital and 2 electrons in the 2p orbital. So the electrons are not the same and wold not make 4 equal bonds.

So these 4 electron hybridize so that they become 4 identical electrons and can make the 4 equal bonds. We call them sp3, but it is just a name.
