The external conflicts he faces are that he has let a creature loose in the world that is capable of killing and is creating havoc destroying innocent members of his own family. The internal conflict is hubris - does he have the right to play God and create life? And once he did create life, is it not his job to nurture that life and be responsible for it? Pax - C
