3a/x+1=a+b for x

(x+1)/3a=1/(a+b)

x+1=3a/(a+b)

x=3a/(a+b)-1

or 3a/x=(a+b)-1
or 3a=x{(a+b)-1}
or x=3a/{(a+b)-1} ans

i ended up stuck at 0=x(-2a+b-1).... you have to factor after and then t-off
