There are plenty of safe places to raise children in Florida. What city do you live in. My town north of Tampa was very safe.

It is because it is warm or temperate all year round. criminal like to operate in warm weather at night rather than trudge through 3 feet of snow, plus it is harder to speed in a getaway car when there is black ice on the road!. also, there are a lot of tourists there who carry lots of money. there is a huge drug trade there due to the high numbers of clientele who are out in the warm evenings partying.
I am serious. i have been a cop twice and crime is much worse in the summers then the winters.

because it's cheap to live in Florida and you can be by the beach. Ya know how criminals are always talking about having drinks on the beach. lol

Wages are pretty low compared to other areas. Taxes keep raising.
Northern Florida. Pretty much anywhere North of Orlando. I lived in Ocala and saw no overabundance of crime.

the noxious odors from the swamplands affect people's minds adversely. causing them to become more violent and angry. i have no idea what im talkin bout i just made that up
