Can you still teach in New Mexico with an assault and battery charge, its a misdeameanor.

Yes, in general you could unless it involved a child. Teachers in New Mexico can be accredited with minor criminal histories. I can't guess what your charge
was based upon or how old it was, but a "routine" assualt and battery charge that you can explain will not be a bar. Incidently, N.M. teachers got a huge raise last year.

Probably. The "big" misdemeanor charge is theft. Most places will not hire you with a conviction for it. Even factories.
