One reason is that you can question the government without being sent to prison. However, some of these con wackos who think you are "UnAmerican" if you do, would have you locked up.
America's diversity is it's strength.

It is also a beautiful country georgraphically. Especially in the Western USA.

Wake up
No great country exists
They all are corrupt and directed by greed
Stop asking a question that always has the same answer

1.You can talk all you want in this country or use your freedom of speech for sure but unless you are a politician with money it won't do a thing.
2. Diversity-True but unfortunately we stereotype everyone according to their nationality.
3.Most universities- True but can you afford to pay your college costs over 20 or 30 years of your life?
4.Best military? No country has the best military. If your CIA can't stop 17 Saudis from entering a country as terrorists, train to fly airliners, board any plane and give your identification at the airport, hijack the plane and fly them into crucial government(Pentagon-military building) and commercial buildings you have a deficient government and military that is not competent.
Oh and if you cant stop 200,000 + people in Sudan from being raped and killed in a genocide I would not go around preaching your military is the top dog especially with it(sudan) being in the same neighborhood as Iraq.
5.Women still make less money than a male doing the same exact job even when the women do a better job than men at some jobs.
6.Many minorities(not all) have rights to be unlicensed contractors, get welfare, receive food stamps, not speak english and not try to on purpose.

I disagree, every country is flawed. I think, if possible, the greatest country would have be the most free. The United States has made many mistakes in this department just as much as the rest of the world. We may be a better country than most due to guaranting rights and everyone has them no matter, gender, race, etc. I would also say that we as a nation have made many mistakes, ie intializing certain things that are unconstitutiona. Also the federal government is in the driver seat, not states. We also praise capitalism, but have a socialized school system (K-12).
We also increasingly have local governments starting to make personal choices for us (otherwise known as nanny government), ie smoking bans, aluminium bat bans, have to wear a seat belt, etc. These laws don't go well with liberty.

I think that those that don't think so need to live in another country for awhile. People tend to take things for granted. When you lose something they are apted to appreciate what they had to begin with. I love America and I am proud to be an American, and yes we have our share of problems and we have at times had a screwed up government, but we are still able to walk to the streets without always being policed, women can vote, we are able to have freedoms that most other if not all other Countries don't have. So, in short I must say that America is the best to me.

It's propaganda. I was born in America, and I began travelling the world when I was 25. I've seen how people in many cultures live, and America is better than some and worse than some. I chose to move to a former communist country where citizens now have more individual freedom than Americans.

You just keep believing that as you spiral down the proverbial drain..only someone who has never left the United States would believe what you believe..the only thing you say that is true is the "best military"..well not the best but the largest and most powerful...soon to be brought to its knees by Iran..your ground troops appear to be useless where they go once the cruise missiles have stopped and you are lucky that Israel is a friend as their armies would walk over you..yes little Israel..not even mentioning Turkey and China or the UK or France..need more? universities?..give you head a shake..per capita most other countries have more..Canada for one and in most cases the other countries have the best...minority rights..ok..not the CNN I have been watching..ask the Muslim born in the US or the Hispanic if he has rights..ask anyone who has a tan...just look north to see the rights that minorities have..."freedom of speech" so comical it deserves no answer..my suggestion for you is to get your passport and travel..or even without a passport and come north and see what we have...sorry, you are way out of the park on this one...

I'm an American and I don't think it is. Americans can be stereotyped by their greed and materialism neither of which I care for. Do we have universal health care? Do we have a free media or is it corporately controlled? Do we REALLY have a say in who gets elected to office or is that determined by who contributes the most money? As far as quality of life is concerned, Canada, Ireland, Italy, France and Switzerland outrank us.

That's the problem....we are a great country...but not the greatest in the world. We're so full of ourselves that other countries are sick of how much we stare at ourselves in the mirror. My guess is you've never traveled overseas.

Because, as Benjamin Lichtenberg said, "Democracy is the state of affairs in which you consent to having your pocket picked, and then elect the best man to do [the job]."

as well as a government that spies on you, and torture camps, and widespread racism, illteracy, corruption. Oh, and you're the biggest merchants of death in the world, not to mention that you invade other countries based on lies, to steal their resources.

Im glad I come from a far better country than yours.
