I have a red diagnostic light that goes on on the left side of my speedometer. When it goes on, I crank up my rpms and it goes off. The battery is one year old, and it slows starts most of the time. Could this mean my coil is going out? Thank you,

There are two red diagnostic lights on the speedo

Right side = Battery low voltage and or not charging.

Left side = Engine trouble code (current or historic)

when you turn the bike on this light will light for 4 seconds wait 4 seconds if it lights up again then there is a trouble code stored in either the ECM or the TSM (TSSM if you have security on the bike) if it goes out after another 4 seconds then its historic (have a dealer look at it at your earliest convenience) if the light does not go out then take it to a dealership now because you have issues.

my bust, there is a third red light on the right side for the TSSM (security system)

I have a 2002 Dyna Super Glide. It's the best bike I've owned. It runs great, it's comfortable (only with forward controls though) and has only required normal maintenance. It has an aftermarket Vance & Hynes exhaust and sounds fabulous. I have no regrets about buying this bike and I'd buy another without hesitation.

Did they change the colors, Walter?
On my '06 the engine light is in the speedo face, on the left. It is white. The red key on the right is for the TSSM. The only other red light I have is the low oil pressure light. This is next to the high beam indicator, between the turn signals.
I'm confused.

If it looks like an oil can, it's the pressure.
Check your oil.

Could mean there is a loose connection at the battery. Check the battery terminals.

The red light is for oil pressure. Whem you rev up the rpms...it's raising the oil pressure hense the light go's out.

Check and see if the alternator is putting sufficient voltage back to the battery.
