Avon sells a product called "skin so soft" it really works. Bathe in oil and rub body with the oil.

Yep the others are correct in the Nail Polish treatment. I also use Patchouli Oil mixed with Fractionated Coconut oil as a preventative. I rub the oils on my skin where the little buggers like to crawl and they don't bite.
Please, in this politically correct world which we have let ourselves become, The critters in question prefer to be called insect-Americans. The "C" word is offensive to them.

I'll leave the nail polish treatment to the more adventurous, but you can relieve the itching and swelling by liberal applications of rubbing alcohol to the bites.
To prevent further infestation, treat the insides of your footwear and lower pant legs with "flowers of sulfur", which is nothing more than yellow, powdered sulfur, available at many pharmacies (although not your big-chain drugstores).

When I get chiggers I put clear nail polish on top of them and it will suffocate them and they will go away.

Paint each chigger bite with clear fingernail polish, this will smother them.

What works for me for flea bites is crushing an aspirin and making a paste with water. Put paste on bite area and swelling and itching will be greatly reduced.

Krisso Oil or Skin so Soft by avon.
Clear nailpolish is okay and will, uptimately work but it isn't the best choice in my poinion.

Hey the clear nail polish thing how did you hear about that. I only knew because it was on CSI.
