yes. they can be trained to sniff out whatever the police teach them. My dad had a drug dog when I was in college. My dad came to see me one day and just brough the dog in and let the dog loose and he found my roommate's painpills and Xanax.

Yes they can. Some dogs are trained to sniff out drugs and some get confused. I was stopped one day for speeding and they had a drug dog there. To my surprise, the dog alerted to my back seat. When all was said and done, the dog had alerted to a box of sandwich bags in my seat. No drugs were found or have ever been in that car.

These days dogs are trained to smell for one thing only, so if you have a bunch of pot and the dog is taught to smell for meth, well your in luck. They do this to not confuse the dog, the thing is that you never know what the dog is trained for. Some times they will bring in more than one dog for this reason, to beable to find more drugs.

FYI, A DOG'S NOSE IS 40 TIMES MORE SENSITIVE THAN A HUMANS AND IF THEY CAN BE TRAINED TO PICK UP ONES FOOTSTEPS THEY CAN ALSO BE TRAINED TO SNIFF OUT DOPE.
