If yes, did you get it back?
Someone stoled my car. It was parked in front of my house. I woke up in the morning looked out my window, and it was gone. I thought I was dreaming.

No, thank God...BUT I DO take extra precautions because I DON'T trust people.

I don't know if you had ANY sort of anti-theft device (either factory installed or aftermarket) installed. IF NOT, It NOW should be obvious that you NEED to get something ONCE your car is recovered (Hopefully).

I will say that the factory installed alarms are only moderately effective...Even a good thief can get past an Engine Immobilizer (the horn honking and lights flashing is a joke, though).

I use something called "The Wrap" http://www.wrap1.com/

It is BRIGHT YELLOW, has a BIG FLASHING triangular red light that faces the outside (when turned on). Also, has a long arm at the end to make wheel rotation impossible.

Plus, although it has a plastic exterior, it is MOSTLY comprised of a very thick metal that covers 95% of the wheel and locks in place.

A LOUD piercing alarm sounds if someone enters the vehicle within 15 seconds. MOST Thieves will say "F*ck it" and move onto an EASIER car to steal.

However, if a thief WANTS your car BAD enough he/she will by-pass just about ANYTHING...BUT why make it easy for them??

About 13 years ago my husband was a NYC Police officer. He just bought him a brand new thunder-bird. He constantly told me make sure I lock my car doors, when I get gas don't leave the car running you know all the standards. One night he was off to work (in uniform) and had to stop and get gas. Well he didn't turn the car off and didn't lock the doors and basically did everything opposite of what he nagged at me to do. He went into the store to pay for gas came out and no car. We got the car back about a week or so later. Some Heroin junkies had stolen it and there were needles etc inside. They also had stolen a bunch of other things from other people that that threw in the trunk and back seat. Once we got the car back we had it professionally cleaned and then sold it. We both got the heebeejeebees being in the car. What a violation you feel

I have had my car stolen twice. The latest one was in July and it hasn't been found. I didn't think anyone would want to steal it because it was old and tatty and not very powerful. My previous car was also stolen. It was used for a robbery and then written off. That was a nice car and I was very sad about it. The worst thing is that the insurance money is never enough to buy another one as good.

About ten years ago my car was stolen in-front of my house and the thieves actually left the steering wheel lock in the street where I parked my car - a few days later the police found the car without the tires radio missing and the top off (it was a jeep)

Sorry to hear that, also im hoping you called the police and filed a report.
I had mine stolen a couple years ago.
I let a socalled friend borrow it,to take another friend home late one night, and the next morning got a call saying my car was stolen, luckily my friend knew the person that took it and eventually got it back but it was almost 24 hrs later..

It was a lesson learned.

No I have never had a car stolen. The last two I had were too raggedy to steal. I would hate to have my new car stolen. I have it fully insured and outfitted with an alarm just in case.

I use to own a Ford Focus. I would purposely leave the doors open in hopes that someone would run off in the thing. No suck luck! Then I purchased at Honda Civic and I caught someone trying to jimmy the doors on my car.

No but one time we were inside of Barns and Noble and my mom's door handle was pulled up like someone had forced it open, and things were taken out of it. I was only about 10 so I thought someone was still in the car. OMG it was freaky!
