portrayal of The Zodiac murders? i felt the focus on the police investigation rather than the actual murders gave a much greater insight into the events of the 1960's and 70's. I have read the book and feel the director has done it great justice. What does everyone else think?

I've watched this movie several times and each time I pick up another detail that I missed the time before. I absolutely loved this movie. I loved how Jake Gyllenhaal (sp?) and Robert Downey,Jr. and Mark Ruffalo(sp?) played off of each other. The acting was brilliant, the writing was terrific, the music, editing and directing were all tight. And let's not forget how the movie just has that '60's-70's look and feel.

Yes and no.. since they seem to focus at the end on the one who DNA tests later cleared .. (the stuff at the end talks about how when the one suspect died the calls stopped..etc.. it wasn't him.. while I do not believe that handwriting should clear anyone.. because I myself have handwriting that changes constantly.. DNA test's are harder to dismiss.. although even these can be faulty if you have a certain genetic condition called herm.. grr.. I can't remember the name, but different parts of the body or organs can have several different DNA makeups)

I think the movie was pretty good, but not great.. and seeing as their are at least two earlier movies done on the case it might have been overkill.

I was totally thinking the same thing. I have watched a couple of the other movies on actual serial killers, like Ed Gein and Dahmer, but I didn't like them or that weren't what I was expecting. I am more interested in how they catch them more than something from the prospective of the killer. I think they did an awesome job with this movie, although I have not read the book.

I watched the true story on A&E. I haven't watched any of the movies but I plan to. This is an intense and scary story. I think the police did a good job. They did not give up. I cannot wait to rent the movies when my finances clear up later on this month.

I think they are pretty interesting, especially the one with Jake Gyllenhaal, and not just because he was in it, even though it helps :) It is pretty creepy though because the person who seems like he was guilty was free all those years and it seems like he was a totally sick creep.
