Well if its just for the internet tescos do cheap laptops and so do acer if you are willing to get the best specs for more money i wouldn't buy them though. Go for at least 60gb
but i had a 30gb Acer and the internet run fine on that as well

For the best specs and price for games and everything this is what i would advise:
Don't go for DELL they are a rip off they use cheap parts and they charge alot more than what you can get inother better makes.
Don't go for Acer they are pieces of scrap metal welded together and called a laptop. (i'd had 2 wish i never brought them)
HP are really good they do some really cheap ones and the have great grapics cards and screens.
Toshiba are rather good alternative as well.

You could buy a copy of Micro Mart computer magazine, it's only £1.99 and you will find numerous adverts. There are some excellent bargains in reconditioned as new laptops with a full warranty. Also a lot of brand new at discount prices. It's also a good magazine if you want to know a little more about how things work. Hope this helps

Dell's are pretty cheap and you can probably get one for under $500. (I've had no problems with my Dells)

You could also think about buying a refurbished system but i don't know how reliable they are
