My doctor gave me the pill form of provera (medroxyprogesterone) to delay my period for my vacation....well it worked and i had no side effects while taking the pill (5 mg a day for 10 days)...but about a week after the last pill some side effects start to hit me like bad cramping..i went to the doctor and they said i was fine...but my question is...is there any time limit of when my delayed period will return? I know that my body is getting back on track and is probably all messed up bc of this..but my period still hasnt come on yet..its been 8 days since my last pill. Could it take..days or even weeks for it to get back to normal?

thank you

Usually your period comes in 3 to 7 days but sometimes will take up to 10 days. If you do not have your period by the 11th day after you had taken the last pill, I would call the doctor's office and just tell them that it still has not arrived. As long as the doctor is not worried, I would not be concerned. Remember, not everyone is the same so your body may not follow what is "normal".
