If you buy a window yourself it might only cost $100. If you buy them from a windows salesman that comes to your home and have them installed you will pay $300 or $400 for the window you bought for $100.

There are many grades of double hung windows. The higher cost windows can have a better quality vinyl and a better seal between the panes of glass.

The catch for the $189 window is they aren't gouging you on installation. But it is likely the windows are lower quality. They are probably the low end windows that contractors put in houses they build.

Be careful and ask lots of questions about what is included. Are they inserts or complete casement windows and how they fit them up. Am pretty sure for that does not include anything with sills. The vinyl replacements i got the windows are maintenance free, but the trim needed to be painted.

Sounds awfully cheap to me. Is there a warranty included? How long has the company been around?
