DDR2 is faster than DDR because it's specifications include changes that basically allow it to move data in and out of memory much faster, allows them to be built with a smaller form factor than DDR for any given size of ram, and has a design that minimizes errors due to inherent electrical noise, which means less data corrections, and greater efficiency.
In addition to these changes, the form factor of the memory is different, and so, at both and architectural and physical level, DDR2 is not backwards compatible with DDR.

DDR2 is the newer faster memory,
NO not compatable, different speeds and No of pins, so won't physically fit the same slots.

DDR2 has bigger bandwidth than DDR. Im sorry to say this, but unless you get a DDR2 motherboard you cant get DDR2.

DDR2 is dual channel resulting in faster speeds.
And no they are not compatable with each other.
