Dear hard and tender, this is a dead end situation. Whom to vote? No one is good enough. Voting white or not voting only promotes the biggest party and supports its aytodynamia. But the problem is not just the politicians. After all, they are not from Mars. They are Greeks like the rest of us. Yes, like the rest of us. Perhaps not us here, but like the majority of Greeks, who do not care what happens outside their door, do not care for the environment and throw their trash on the street or abandon their animals, do not respect their fellow citizens enough to not smoke where they are not allowed and a pregnant woman is pointing this out to them, build houses in the forests (so how do you expect them to condemn the katapathseis and arsonists?) and so on...
I feel I am part of a small minority of caring people, as are you. It is a disappointing feeling, but knowing that I am in the right and not in the wrong "group" helps. I believe deep down those evil people cannot be proud of themselves.

I will not only middle fingered them, I will also get them through the classical proctological test. That is what they want the total 300 of them. They are contented with their arrogant role of supposedly governing the country. Governing is not only the inaugural ceremonies and the every now and then moments of public speeches that they try to look their best.
Where was the PM the last 3 days, when at least on the third he should have gone to the stricken places and face the people and their complains? He played it safe by attending sober-faced the meeting of the Armed forces in an effort to show participation. The same would have done his rival should he had been PM, no doubt.
However, the suggestion of going to the beaches, however tempting it may be, is not a responsible attitude by democratic citizens. You got to the ballot and if you feel they are not good enough for you, put an invalid vote-paper of their party in it. They will get the message. Especially if the middle finger is painted on it. The more they get, the tougher for them.

sadly, the Greek politicians are like ostriches. Whether the problem is domestic or international, they duck responsibility.
It is depressing because there is so much that is worthwhile in modern Greece, but the politicians who run the place today- of whatever political persuasion, the army, police and even the Church stink to heaven, largely because they believe their own jobs are secure and they have no genuine sense of public duty. Maybe they have learnt their role in life from the bureacrats in IKA!
When I first went to Greece in 1988, I remember beating out hill-fires near Sparti. Every year since then I read of "arsonists" and conspiracies- but the biggest conspiracy seems to be the idle ruling classes who have made no further efforts to respond to fire today than they did in 1988.
It is high time pratts like Karamanlis and his cronies grew up, assumed the duties they were elected to, stopped aportioning blame, and began to help their own country and at the same time play a mature role in the governance of the EU. So far, I just see posturing and cinders. Maybe it is time to send a clearer message through the ballot box.

Leventis for ever
When a politician cares you mock him
you make fun of him
you say he is mad
yet he was the only one to speak the truth
Now you don't like the politicians because of the fires
............you need your heads examined
HE received 2.3% of the votes in 1996/7
that is proportionaly 230,000 people
without a say
thanks to N.D. and PASOK and the Greek voting public
Yet he had no representative in 'VOULI'
And nobody seemed to care
Learn to live with what you chose
and take responsibility for your mistakes
.....................................ego o elias o blakas pou pisteve oti oi ellines akoma yparxoyn (I elias the idiot who believed that my felow Greeks still exist)

I'm seriously considering Leonarda's proposition...It's tragic both my parent's home towns were in danger and I had friends all over Greece for who I worried bc they were close to fires...The irony is that we have 19 airplanes and we are satisfied...B*******T...I can't even bother to give them the middle finger...
We have this "blue guy" here at work saying that they'll definetly get the elections no matter what...Can you believe him???Edw o kosmos kegetai...

I sincerely hope that NO ONE goes to vote on the 16th.I sure as hell won't.Not only did no one do anything to stop this disaster, not only did no politician do something to ease the pain of those who suffered from the fires they all tried to manipulate this catastrophy in order to get votes...I would like to see them get 10000000 middle fingers on the 16th of September.
KANEIS NA MIN PATISEI STIS EKLOGES...FTANEI PIA I KOROIDIA KAI I EKMETALEUSI.KAIROS NA KSUPNISOUME!!(sorry but in times of big frustration my mother language is the only one in which I can truly express myself)

I give the middle finger to all my fellow Greeks that didn't vote for me in the 1993 elections and so I never got to see the inside of parliament.
I was honest had a good record and a popular president of the Greeks of Africa to boot.
Let them live with the repercussions of their decisions.
I'm sorry about the fires and very sad for the dead
What more can I say
The greatest people on the planet who gave us democracy medicine mathematics and justice have amongst them others that destroy rather than build for a fist-full of dollars
And whats more
have people that attempt to blame elected people whom they have elected
as the cause of the fires.
Get real

They already have taken so much from me that I don't feel like giving them not even a hair from my head.
Not even my vote. Yes, I agree with Leonarda, on Sept.16th when they want us to honour them (what????), let us go to the sea!!!
