9x^2 + 18 = 0

Subtract 18:

9x^2 = -18

Divide by 9:

x^2 = -2

Take the square root:

x = +√(-2) or -√(-2)

But √(-2) = √[(-1)(2)] = (√(-1))(√(2)) = i√2.

So x = +i√2 or x = -i√2.

x² =-18/9 = - 2 , then x =±i√2 where i =√-1
then x =i1.414 or -i 1.414
