How many wins does Sylvester Croom need at Mississippi State this year to keep his job?

It was a huge deal when he became the first black head coach in the SEC, but the results have been less than stellar. Granted, it's gotta be pretty difficult to convince a kid to go play football in Starkville, Mississippi.

Circle that first game vs LSU.. reporters around Miss St say that if Croom can't put up points versus that defense he'll get canned.. that is a tall requirement.. as for wins.. i don't know really because of the balance in the SEC I'd say 5 wins and being competitive in the losses keeps his job.. but if they get blown out a couple of times then Croom outta be checking the real estate market

Probably 6-7 wins will do it. Miss St is getting better and would do very well in another conference, but the SEC is so darn tough it is hard to be a top contender. They do have a chance at going bowling this year.

He had better feel lucky that Alabama did not hire him.He would have been out the door 2 years ago winning 3 or 4 games a year.Alabama would not have waited this long.
I'm starting to wonder if Miss. St. settles for 3 wins a year.

It is called commitment from the administation and I don't know if he has a budget to compete with the top teams in the conference. He'll need 6 or 7 and a bowl game of his job will be in jeopardy.

I would have ot say that he would need 9 wins and a bowl game victory to keep his job. He has to do some serious winning do keep his job.
