as of the reports released by the US census bureau, Maryland is the wealthiest state in the nation by median household income. Florida isn't quite as affluent. maryland has a much more eclectic climate ( maryland has hot summers and snowy winters, whereas florida is hot all year around.) maryland is a mid-atlantic state and florida is a southern state. florida has a much more hispanic culture than maryland.

Yeah, pretty much. You could compare landscapes as well, mountains vs. coastal, etc. Political trends, education ratings, incomes, what people do for a living. All sorts of stuff.
