I have the same problem with my truck. Is it a rear wheel drive? If it is, your problem may just be that there is no weight over your "drive" wheels. Throw a bunch of weight in your trunk and that will help. If you have a front wheel drive, you may just need new tires. Hope this helps!

The stock tires on your elantra are junk at best. We had the same problem with my girlfriends elantra!!! 0 wet weather traction!!! Make sure to slow down early also. I tried lower air pressure and it helped a little. Get rid of them ASAP!!! I put Yokohamma's on hers and it was like driving a different car, smoother ride and traction.

You either need to launch a lot more gently or yes, you need better tires. This may seem sort of obvious but since the tires #1 job is to grip the road, if they are no longer doing that job it is time to get new ones.

Pull away slower, you will have to check if tyres are suitable.
