no house isnt the same as home, home is the place you make for youself to live in and be comforable in, u call it home coz it's your refuge, whether it's an apartment or even just a room, u can call it home. House is something you build, you can build a house that isnt your home, ppl who will buy that house and live in it will call it THEIR home. Thats why there's "home sweet home" not "house sweet house", if there was house sweet house there should be flat sweet flat or apartment sweet apartment, and so on :P

House and home mean about the same thing. BUT they can also mean more then one thing, as can home. For the "home sweet home" quote, I suppose you would have to ask that person! But I bet they tried out different words and just found that home fit better then house.

A home is where your heart is. With your family and loved ones. A house is just that a house. It can be a mansion but if there is no love then no matter how big or beautiful or how many materials things you own or how much money you have, it will never be a home. You can not buy love.
