Whoever told you that was being rather personal!
It`s nothing to do with anyone but yourself.
I`ve known `boyish` females, some of them were lesbians, but it`doesn`t mean to say you will turn out like that, but we all have a bit of the other sex in us.
A male is not all male and a female is not all female. A male with an unusual amount of female hormones will probably turn out to be homo-sexual, so will a female with too many male hormones. But it really depends on your upbringing. I am one of five boys and a sister, my sister could match us in most things, being among so many boys, until she grew older and more effeminate, now she is as woman as women can be.
Don`t let it worry you, and, above all, take no notice of the ignorant `people` you speak of. You should retaliate by telling them that their manners leave a lot to be desired, and to mind their own business.
Good luck, go ahead!

too boyish for what? or whom? you are only too boyish if YOU think so. if you are not naturally girlie then you never really will be. if youre a tomboy at heart then youll feel a proper twit all dolled up and simpering. do you mean appearance or behaviour? how you are is how you are im afraid. as for your look, you could try experimenting with clothes and make-up, but find a way that you feel comfy with. dont wander too far from your usual look or youll feel odd(you never know though, you might love it and itll keep growing on you)but try little changes that you like and are happy with

The biggest thing i like about being a bloke is that i don't have to get up wash my long hair and pile on the make up
if i shave once in few days its rare
i can be a scruffy b*stard and i don't care my Mrs likes it when I'm rugged
don't bother being girly the less you have to do the better
and then on the special occasions you can go all Cinderella on their asses

Unless those people are helping you pay your rent, then don't give squat to what they say. You be who you need to be - just like they are.

Personally, I think a lot of this 'feminine' stuff has become too commercial, self-absorbed, and shallow. Be yourself and add some interest to the mix.

Ah Im the same, it's kind of annoying seeing girls all dressed up in town and me kinda scruffy, I dont think I could change though because it's just not me...I am trying to wear brighter colours and always wear eyeliner&mascara so that could be a starting point and try to wear a bit of jewelery too it can make a big difference

You are who you are sweetheart. Don't EVER think of changing who and what you are because of other people's expectations. Are you happy being 'boyish.? Then stay that way!!!!!!! At the end of the day, whose going to give a damn anyway?

You should be who you are, not who others want you to be. But if you reallly want to change, try changing some of your clothing styles, doing you hair, prehaps a bit of lippy. If none of that suits, just have some girly time with some other girls, that'll soften you up!

first, dress girly. Take care of your body, wear nice outfits, put some make up on, do something pretty with your hair etc..
then, change your attitude. being feminine doesnt necessarily mean you gotta love shopping or pampering yourself 24/7! Just act more gentle, soft, and you can be more flirty, touchy/feely around guys.

so what, don't change who you are. i am a jeans & tshirt kinda girl, but one thing i love is the element of surprise. the pretty girls are always dressed up. nobody looks at them on a special ocassion because they are always that way. when i go out, i get dolled up. i let my hair down, put on a little makeup, cute outfit, and bam; all eyes on me. the same thing goes for girly girls when they dress down. noone expects them to wear jeans and a tshirt, so all eyes on them when they do. hence the element of surprise. people don't expect the unexpected.
try it one day. i promise you will get rave remarks; the girly girls will be jealous :-)
