I miss the simplicity of Window's 98 and Vista is NOT for me. My computer has more unneded programmes that my computer says I cannot get rid of...THAT pisses me off......thus it takes a LONG time....5 minutes or so to reboot. And allegedly I have great speed on my comp. ~ How about you???

Run config and then de-select those programs that you do not need to have run in startup.

well my computer is at least 8 years old so about 15-20 minutes. and about that long to start up too. it's still a little slow though

XP with 1.6 GHz processor and 1.3 GB ram- about 30 seconds
Vista with 3 GHz processor and 1 GB ram- about 1 minute

Avoid to install any prog. including Yahoo messanger in "automatic start mode" that will be time-consuming to start the *.exe and OS to start and de-install all the programmes you don't need.
mine takes 5,6 sec-
