To get a batsman out on 99 is a great joy for any bowler and if the batsman is Tendulker then its more then joy and I believe , as a sportsman, that Flintoff had all the rights to react that way.

I think the reason for his over reaction is that he got Sachin out in 99 and also the wicket of Sachin is prestigious for any bowler.

That's part and parcel of the game. Any bowler will be extremely
delighted to get out a batsman on 99. It will be much more
thrill when you get out a class batsman. So it is not surprising
to see Flintoff's reaction.

Getting Tendulkar's wicket at any time is worth a major celebration by any bowler. And getting him for 99, before he really cut loose must have been a big relief.
