My wife and I both work full time. I have the option of working Sundays, my wife is tied in with shift work and has to work every other Sunday.
We work child care out pretty well with help from Grandma, but I always take Sundays off to look after the kids.
It's simple logic, she gets paid on a Sunday about 2 1/2 times what I get for a Sunday. She really likes the job she's in and Sundays come with the job. So on a Sunday I am a house husband. When she gets home in half an hour dinner will be waiting.....
Does this count ????

this is my life you're describing!!!!!
My other half works 5 days a week - nights actually - so, he's asleep until about 1pm ... then he's out the door at 5pm. If he goes to work later then he'll take our baby daughter in the bath with him ... or he'll play with her for a bit (and I mean - a bit!).
I'm sure he thinks I have the sweeeeet life here at home! When he gets fed-up with his job then he says "I'd love to do what you do ... stay at home all day!". Yeh- for how long! As you point out... no hol & sick days available ....and your day starts from the minute you open your eyes! - everyone wants feeding - I have to change nappies up to 7 times a day - and if I'm lucky, I'll get a bit of peace & quiet on my own by 10pm!!!
Even now - It's taken me 30 mins to write this because my 15 month old baby daughter is into everything - and wants my attention all the time!
I applaude house husbands who know what we're talking about ('cos you guys do it too) - but to you lot who think it's a piece of P*ss - YOU HAVE NO IDEA!
Right - got to go ... a baby needs bathing!

In my potential household, it would be a better idea if I were househusband while my wife is the breadwinner. I have cerebral palsy, and there are many professions that would not be open to me because of it (including bad finger dexterity.) I also cannot drive a car due to concentration and memory problems. I am able to do stuff like laundry and vacuuming and even making my father's bed on occasion. I can grocery shop, but can only cook convenience food without the help of a cookbook.

my husband would love to be a stay at home parent and i think i would enjoy full time work(i work part time at the mo in school hours soi am always home when the kids are) but deep down i know i would be jealous of the time my hubby gets with the kids while i was stuck at work so we just plod along as we are.

What has your question got to do with 'reality T.V' deary--wrong category hmm? Just for the record... I ''took on'' my two children four years ago, (their mother ''took ill'' , and i was given the choice of ''putting them into EITHER the care, OR the adoption system''---but chose instead to look after them myself---they ARE a part of me after all!), and so consequently have done 'all of the above' that you have mentioned--and have 'been there--done that--made the video--worn the T,Shirt'---blah-de-blah-de-blah--etc, etc..indeed, ALL that that entails---so its nothing new from this end, i can assure you!! However--i DO see what you are saying, and it IS in the 'present'---or 'future' tense, AND with a partner, that you are talking about, is it not?---in that case---i STILL would not have a problem with it, (i would in fact, do it all again if i had too...partner or not!)..ezy pezy really---''some'' men are not as 'inept' in the way's of life, (AND child rearing!), as ''some'' women like to make out that they are you know!!

No, because the women get resentful. just like the men!. They think the man has it easy all day and they start to take him for granted.
After a while he becomes another employee of the woman to be told what to do, certainly not a partner with whom to have a physical, loving relationship.
Also the woman gets peeved when the child goes to the Father for comfort rather than the Mother. She becomes the walking wallet, working her bollocks off for an ungrateful family.
When they get a divorce, and they do, she then has to financially support the man!.
Equal opportunities, eh?.

In that situation, I'd do my best... gonna make a lot of mess, but I'll do the work. The condition is that the wife doesn't complain about the standard of my cleaning...
