It was a typical liberal reaction. When confronted with truth, reason, and logic they have nothing to do but lash out. We have a Yorkie down the street who does the same thing when a big dog comes near.
Both reactions come from feelings of inadequacy. The cure for the Yorkie is a weightlifting program. For the liberal, it's re-education in actual history.

All politicized people are like bisexuals in this way. When they are right, they like being right. When they are wrong, they either lie outright, or scurry away from the truth and hide under the covers, pretending they are right anyway. So to use your words, they do like it both ways. This is not to say that there is no honor in politics- I think it is very brave for people to purposely inject themself into a world of scrutiny, deception, and nastiness in order to make the world a better place. Many of these people would have a much easier go of things by entering the world of commerce, law, etc.
Politics is a neccessary evil that often obscures the truth and just as often ventures into the realm of the absurd.

Bush did a different comparison with Iraq and Vietnam. He said Vietnam would have been won had the US stayed there longer. That is not the same as the comparison I for one have been giving. I've been saying "both wars were a disaster, nothing was achieved except death and destruction" - slightly different don't you think?
If one person says "the man was a murderer" and another says "all men are murderers" does that mean they're agreeing? But they're both talking about men and murder!

Once again - if the 'asker' doesn't have a solid argument that can be backed up with facts or logic, (s)he resorts to juvenile name-calling, idiotic innuendos, childish and immature back-stabbing, distortions, lies, illogical conclusions, or mean-spirited attacks.
When are 'libs' and 'cons' going to recognize that they're both basically the very same thing??
They're hypocritical, biased, bigoted, hate-filled, angry, psychotic and desperate to prove their way is best - at any cost, even that of proving themselves to be uninformed. Most people who label themselves as "conservatives" or "liberals" don't even understand the meaning of the terms.
Here's how Webster's dictionary defines each term:
"Conservatism" is "a political philosophy based on tradition and social stability, stressing established institutions, and preferring gradual development to abrupt change."
"Liberalism" is "a political philosophy based on a belief in progress, the essential goodness of man, and the autonomy of the individual, and standing for the protection of political and civil liberites."
It sounds to me like there's a little bit of "conservatism' and "liberalism' in almost ALL of us. So why continue to call each other names, spew forth such evil hatred, and keep our nation divided over supercilious 'labels'??
Better that we unify and fight against the monopolistic, corrupt two-party political system that has managed to brainwash most of us into complacency, prejudice and hostility. -RKO- 08/26/07

Politicans will do anything to gain support even if it is clashing with their own actions. I'm just sick of Bush's way of trying to justify things by throwing his own inflated ideas of freedom around, how everything is OK because he's single handedly 'stopping terrorism' despite the fact it's blatently for the oil there. If I'm correct, I don't think any other presidents have waged war on Iraq apart from the Bushes. Thank goodness presidents can't serve more than 2 terms, roll on 2008.

Excuse me??
The Democrats ripped into Bush about the Vietnam war because he had steadfastly denied that there was ANY comparison between the two. He has said you can't make any comparisons.
And now he is starting to make the comparisons. That's why he got ripped into.
What an idiotic thing to say.

Wait that's what you meant, impressive? the place the female is my supplies to smack around and shop in her place! classic MARRIAGE! Or did you recommend the social fusing of two households for financial income, in spite of who each and each is snoozing with. Or arranged marriages, (which trend to poll as happier than marriages consistent with infatuation) Oh and balloting? Like we've been given to on interracial marriages? Like as quickly as we voted to allow first cousins to wed? Why ought to I bow to majority opinion, while the final public would not understand plenty previous what their eighty 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous preachers dictate to them of their Sunday morning stupor. I gotta reject that. what's mine by impressive must be taken, by using fact the sheep of the religious Reich won't supply me something yet distain

You are a flaming MORON. Such an asinine premise for a question, why are you wasting space, food, water, air, when so many people could use to the resources for so many more worthy purposes? Go see a proctologist and see if it it is feasible to have your head extracted from your rectum, hope you have insurance, oh yea don't forget to have a haz-mat permit pulled in case your head leaks.

It wasn't audacity, it was stupidity.
One losing war compared with another losing war.
Are you old enough to remember that we fought in Viet Nam so they would have democracy, are you old enough to remember that there was a draft, because you really can't fight a war on politicians hot air. Are you old enough to remember how our country was torn apart by men who didn't fight telling those who did how poorly they were doing?
If your premise is that Democrats want it both ways, when truly the only thing that is similar is that in both wars politicians were liars, then Republicans must be suffering en masse from Alzheimer's.

No, sweetie, they still believe the comparison; they're just pointing out that your President is a hypocrite.
In April 2004, during a Presidential debate, Georgie had the following to say about comparing Iraq and Vietnam:
QUESTION: How do you answer the Vietnam comparison?
BUSH: I think the analogy is false. I also happen to think that analogy sends the wrong message to our troops, and sends the wrong message to the enemy.
Those were HIS words.
