With him being allergic to apples be careful many juices are diluted with apple juice. Sometimes it won't even be on the label. If I were you I would buy a juicer and juice his juice myself. It is healthier and you can be sure he is not exposed to apples or apple residue from the machines, plus it will have less sugar then store bought.

My son loves white grape juice. Another user brought up a good point- be sure to check out the ingredients in the juice- lots of times apple juice is added to non-apple juice. Funny, huh? Anyway, when we started my son on juice (about the same age as your child) our pediatrician told me not to give him more than 4 ounces per day. (Presumably because it pretty much has no real nutritional value) I filled his sippy cup about 3/4 full of water & topped it off with juice. He's 15 months now and we still do it that way.

Your six month old definitely does not need juice. There really is no reason to give her/him juice at this point. But if you are really set on giving the baby juice then you absolutely must start reading labels in the store - many juices, not labelled apple juice, are mixed with apple juice. So read those labels!

You should also avoid giving your baby anything with "high fructose corn syrup" - alot of juices (and other packaged foods) are filled with it and it's really just a horrible thing ingest.

When you give your baby juice - make sure to dilute it at least half and half with water.

Good luck!

Pear juice, peach juice, mango juice or white grape juice are all good choices too. Just check the label and make sure it's not a juice blend that has apples in it. :)

White Grape juice, or pear juice. Try Gerber or Beechtree mix with at least 50% water.

True they dont "need" juice but it tastes good. There are other mixed flavors of juice just go to the store and take a look. White grape or grape is yummy. Just check the ingredients not just the flavor on the front...a lot of them use apple even when not stated on the front. Oh and watch the sugar or high fructose corn syrup content..the "cocktails have tons of sweetener sometimes.

I wouldn't give juice yet. Neither of our kids started diluted juice until they were 10 months old.

When you do- she can have pear juice.

Well, juice is not reccomended until 9 months and then it is just a non nutritive filler. It is full of suger and not needed at all.

Sure, try white grape juice. Not very many people are allergic to grapes. They have little bottles of it in the baby aisle. I know my 3 kids loved it.
